The social transformation programs are operated by ANKAWA INTERNATIONAL. Ankawa International is an international non-profit organization that promotes good governance, development, and innovation in Peru and the world. Its activities have been internationally recognized. Among them, we can mention:
ELECTORAL OBSERVATION MISSIONS
Ankawa International’s Democracy Strengthening Sector designs and implements electoral observation missions in different countries. Unlike large election observation missions operated by international organizations, Ankawa’s missions are highly specialized in vulnerable groups (minorities, LGTBIQ, etc.), and are implemented in countries of democratic transition or vulnerable democracies. After elections, they seek to cooperate with civil society organizations and political organizations to create protection and empowerment mechanisms via administrative or legal reforms.
Among the countries observed, we can cite Mexico, Haiti, Argentina, Nepal, Kyrgyzstan, India, Tunisia, etc.
For complete detail of our activities, follow our electoral observation missions around the world at: https://www.facebook.com/eomankawaintl/
CONFLICT RESOLUTION & PEACE BUILDING MISSION
Ankawa International deploys peace-building missions in areas of social or political conflict in different parts of the world. Working from a perspective of social legitimacy, we also work with organized civil society organizations to create new platforms for dialogue. Although our missions are neutral, they are based on the principle of truthfulness, therefore, serious human rights violations are often denounced by Ankawa before competent international organizations.
Among the missions deployed, we have:
- Perú
- Venezuela
Likewise, for the resolution of controversies, Ankawa has a National and International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Center.
FOOD SECURITY PROGRAMS
Food security programs are implemented in Peru and Haiti at the request of the representatives of the farming communities in these localities. These programs seek to strengthen the capacities of farming communities to manage water resources in rural production areas.
In Haiti, this program is implemented through our local partner (IMED).
In Peru, this program is implemented through our local partner (the Departmental Federation of Farmers of Cusco).
STRATEGIC DEFENSE OF HUMAN RIGHTS
This program implements an effective strategic defense of human rights in national and international courts, thus, Ankawa not only acts against States but also against companies, in case of serious human rights violations.
In this sense, the Deizy Beltran Center for the Investigation and Defense of Human Rights has been created, which defends women victims of gender violence in the Americas. This center has received international recognition.
Ankawa is also involved in the design and planning of public policy with a human rights approach.
