ANKAWA INTERNATIONAL STORY
The Ankawa Organization began first as an idea, then as a project, and finally as an international institution. The idea of the Peruvian jurist Amilcar Romero, upon returning to his country, was to bring together a select group of professionals to promote inclusive and sustainable development. Thus, the first natural resource management programs in the Andean regions of Peru were implemented. We also participated in the Twentieth Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP20) in the city of Lima (Peru).
As a result of this experience, the idea is transformed into a project called Proyecto Peru – Ankawa (later called Proyecto Ankawa), which is selected in international competition as an innovative project of social transformation. Thus, Ankawa Project continues with its activities to promote good governance, sustainable development, and innovation together with prestigious national and international institutions.
Finally, the project becomes an international institution to promote social transformation in the world.
